Supporting Change

LIXI has demonstrated an extremely strong record of delivering reliable and timely changes to our suite of LIXI2 standards. Our defined change management process means that our community is able to raise a request and have certainty that we will execute that request within a sensible time frame, and you can access draft versions in the meantime.

If you're considering using LIXI2 standards but have any concerns about our ability to add new features quickly and reliably enough, our statistics over the past three years should inspire confidence. The deadlines for the upcoming release are available here.

Release Frequency

We've reliably released updates to our LIXI2 standards every four to six weeks, after which we typically have no remaining issue backlog.

Rate of Request Execution

On average, we resolve almost one change request each and every work-day - we are continuously evolving the standards to meet the requirements of the industry.

Lifetime of a Change Request

The average lifetime of a change request is approximately 30 days (from when a request is raised until we publish an update to our standards).

Time to Draft Available

Since we use mostly automated processes in LIXILab, you can have a draft version of a standard in as little as one day after your change request is raised.

Of course we still need to follow our change request process, and get the community involved in reviewing the requirement and solution, but we've got great engagement and a large pool of collaborators ready to help out.

Our industry-leading toolset and the innovative use of LIXILab for managing the LIXI Standards is proving to be an agile and robust approach that imposes the minimum outlay of time and cost to our contributors.
