Living Expenses – Review of Lender Categories

Review of Lender Categories for
Living Expenses and Other Commitments

LIXI has facilitated multiple rounds of industry consultation and was pleased to receive broad representation and support from the LIXI community. This culminated in the standard categories for a customer's outgoings (Living Expenses and Other Commitments) being incorporated in the LIXI data standards on 16th September 2019.

The objective of this standardisation work was to develop a set of categories that every lender could accept in an inbound feed from each of their aggregators. Every lender is free to consolidate these categories upon receipt from the aggregator, as long as only simple direct mappings are required, and no splitting into multiple consolidated categories is necessary. Each major lender has expressed agreement that the categories meet their requirements and that they, would allow aggregators to submit to them using these categories at some stage in the future, although specific commitments or timelines are not publicly available.

This post reviews the current state (on 13th February 2020) showing how closely each of the LIXI Categories map to the major lender's categories. This is based only on information available in the public domain. Notes have been provided, detailing any issues that may need to be considered in terms of these mappings. LIXI will continue to update this page as new information becomes available in the public domain.

ICON KEY
The LIXI Category can be mapped directly into a lender category with no splitting or merging of data that is treated differently from a HEM perspective.
The LIXI Category can not be mapped directly into a lender category without merging or splitting. Such a merge or split does not occur where the data treatment in HEM would be a potential issue (for example merging data that is 'Included in HEM' with data that is Excluded from HEM.

Alternatively, insufficient information is available in the public domain to make a determination.
