LIXI2 Interactive Tutorial for a Car Loan (CAL)
Do you want to know more about how car loan application data is represented in a LIXI2 package?
If you have an account on this website (employees of LIXI Members and Licensees can self register for free), you can now access the LIXI2 Interactive Tutorial that steps through the sections of a generic Australian car loan application and, in real-time, shows where that data is represented in the LIXI2 CAL package.
Using our LIXI2 Customisable Forms Framework we have laid out forms following the typical structure of a car loan application - you can easily read through the layout file to find all the mapping information for each field!
Check out the layout configuration files in this LIXI Lab project. The mapping details in the configuration file can be used when creating your own car loan application, or you can directly modify the layout of these forms to create a prototype that includes all the correct data mappings.
Using XPath Notation with LIXI2
Typically XPath is used for extracting data from XML, but in this demo we use the same notation to map where the data will be inserted into the package.
A single XPath is used for both operations:
- Extracting data from the LIXI2 Package, and
- Inserting data into the LIXI2 Package
The XPaths need to be carefully crafted so that each field in the form has a Unique XPath (unless we want a field to be populated with the same value as another field, in which case we would use the same XPath for both fields).
As each control on the form is populated or edited, it is immediately reflected in the LIXI2 data package - allowing you to quickly learn the structure of the LIXI2 message. The form also allows you to seamlessly switch between XML and JSON.
This interactive tutorial continues to evolve as we accommodate suggestions and requests from members, so please feel free to contact us with any feedback.
