IATA Receives Negative Comments on Resolution 787

As the May 1 deadline for comments on the International Air Transport Association's (IATA) Resolution 787 (a "high-level objective" for XML standards) to the Department of Transportation has passed, many negative comments have been received from travel companies and organisations within the travel industry. The IATA's New Distribution Capability, which is a set of technical standards that would apply to airlines which want to distribute merchandising efforts and ancillary products through third-party channels,  has stirred up controversy for several reasons such as not being easily understood, a shifting message and ambiguous language.
