Cargo-XML Strategy Released

Since 2009, the International Air Transport Association (IATA ) Cargo-XML Task Force has been working towards new XML standards. These standards are designed to innovate how the air cargo industry communicates and offers industry stakeholders an alternative to Cargo-IMP messages. The IATA's Cargo Committee (CC) has recently formally endorsed XML as the strategic direction for the air cargo industry's electronic messaging and announced the "sunset" of the Cargo-IMP system by the end of 2014.

The full Cargo-XML presentation, released on 14th February 2013, addresses the committee's business processes, strategy, benefits, messages and recommendations and is an interesting view into how a different industry addresses similar issues. To read the full presentation, follow this link.
